Junior Gold Help
« on: January 30, 2020, 02:25:01 PM »
Hi, I'm 17 years old and this summer I am participating in the 2020 Junior Gold Championships in Las Vegas. It is my first time going to a big tournament like this.
Balls I currently have are:
Physix
Pro Motion
IQ Tour Solid
IQ Tour Emerald
Pitch Black
Hy-road Pearl
Spare Ball

I can only bring 5 balls and I am a 2 hander so I obviously need to bring my spare ball. What other balls should I bring? And are there any other tips or advice about Junior Gold would be appreciated!
Thanks, Caleb Jans

From my past experiences I would bring PhysiX, IQ Tour, IQ Tour Emerald, and Pitch Black. I feel that will give you the most range on the 4 different patterns.

The ones that I would take are:

Physix
Pro Motion
Both IQs
Spare

With this being your first time; do not have the mindset that you have to beat everyone else.  Bowl your own game and tell yourself they are out to beat you.  It will help you to relax and repeat shots.  Another thing is look at other bowlers around you that are bowling well and see where they are playing the lanes and with what type of equipment (shiny, dull, smooth rolling, or angular).  You can learn a lot from watching others and seeing what they are doing if you are struggling to score.  But the main thing is not to put too much pressure on yourself.  Do your thing and have fun doing it.

My other advice is just have fun, take it seriously, but don't forget we all bowl for fun. Also bowl good, eat good, bowl bad, eat good. Eat at local recommended places, especially if you aren't likely to go back to that area.
