Bowling in Calgary Canada
« on: December 22, 2010, 11:47:21 PM »
I know we have a lot of folks come on here from Canada. I am going to be moving to Calgary at the start of 2011. I was wondering if anyone from there knows of any good leagues to bowl in. I am hoping to find a scratch league with strong competition, strong bowlers. Also, will be in need of a good Pro Shop to go to for equipment, drilling, etc. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a list or every center in Alberta. Not much there. Good luck finding a decent league. Better learn how to skate if you want to see some good competition.

Many of these centers are Canadian 5-pin centers:

(There are a handful of 10-pin centers.)

I have friends in edmonton(just north about two hours of calgary) there is two centres in calgary and two in edmonton.

Calgary- Silver Dollar, and Let's Bowl. generally say let's is a better centre.

Edmonton- Ed's Rec Room( is a beautiful center with more than 3.5 million in renos put in) and where my second proshop is. if your looking for a proshop that is reliable give dan skitt a call: 780-700 8456

There generally isnt a strong field of bowlers out west.

Don't know if you have moved yet but if you havn't I can tell you that there are three ten pin houses in Calgary. They are Let's Bowl, Century(formally Silver Dollar), Mountainview Bowlerama. There are very good mens scratch leagues at Let's on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. They are both 4 game leagues and both bowl on the sport shot. In my opinion Let's has he only good pro shop in town and a great ball driller named Rich Huzina. Hope this helps
