USBC and the PBA Experience leagues
« on: August 23, 2007, 01:49:26 AM »
Last night was the final night for my PBA Experience league.
I've absolutely loved it, and loved the challenge.

That aside... There have been 3 honor scores - 2 300 games and a 299.

After the first week of the 15 week league, there was a question with the legality of the shot, so the association asked the house to strip one extra time before putting down the pattern. That should have been the end of it. The house assumed that since they hadn't heard anything to the contrary, the subsequent tapes were good to go.

The league secretary called USBC a few days ago to find out where the honor score awards stood, and was told that they probably wouldn't fly, because the lanes didn't look good. ONE OF THESE SCORES WAS SHOT THE 3RD WEEK OF LEAGUE - AND NO ONE HAD EVER NOTIFIED THE HOUSE THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE LANES.

Seems to me that if the USBC wants to promote these leagues, they'd be a little more timely in their analysis, and certainly get feedback to the house a little sooner than 12 weeks later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The house said last night that if the USBC can't do any better, they won't sanction the leagues as PBA/Sport any more. And that doesn't do anyone any good!

Sucks!  Did USBC notify anyone?  League secretary.......anyone?

Communication gap.  Who ran the tapes, who read them?

The tapes were ran by the center manager - aka league secretary.

There was NO communication from Greendale - the manager called there the two times he'd spoken to them.

The league I'm bowling in has a few local celebs - Corey Husted and Chet Rogers - both fighting it out for points leader in the NW region, Jason Hollingsworth (another great regional player) and Dave Husted - need I say more.

Chet's 300 is one of the ones that's being disputed.

I actually don't think there's a problem with the shots - or one of these guys would have pointed out the inconsistencies. There was a regional last week at the house, and the shot played true...
