I've been visiting different bowling alleys, bowling a few games and I found out that leagues are SO cheap around here. So just FYI if anyone is in the Denver area.

4 man league Elitch Lanes Wheat Ridge, $12.00 a night and that INCLUDES pizza and a pitcher of beer (or soda) every night. I was actually here tonite and someone bowled a 300, 817 series. Never witnessed that before, pretty cool. This bowling alley also has scratch leagues (didn't get a price)

Wheat Ridge Lanes, Wheat Ridge, CO 4 person mix leagues $9.00 a night. Also cool about this place is that bowling is only 99 cents a game everyday until 6:00 and after 6:00 it's like $1.40 a game.

Well, just got excited about that and had to tell someone, maybe good if anyone out there is in the Denver area.

You have to keep in mind that your league fees are broken down into

Lineage
Prize fund
sec/tres fees

So if you have virtually no  prize fund because you get pizza and beer every week then that might be something to consider.

Just because it seems cheap doesn't mean that there's much coming back to the bowlers in the way of prize fund.  And how much are those pizzas and beer anyway?  Part of your league fees go into that.  Is your entire prize fund devoted to pizza and beer?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Well, sorry about that, but for a more casual league, it's a good deal IMO. I guess i'm more casual right now (although I love bowling) so to me it's a good deal cuz a pitcher of beer and pizza + 3 games for $12.00 is pretty good.

Sorry, guess I got caught up in the excitement because I was expecting $25.00 / week prices.

True...but, this should leave a lot left over for pots and brackets. If its a big league they should be pretty hefty. Prize funds are overrated anyway. I would much rather the meal and beer. And gimme pots.

I have to be honest...I'd rather pay $10 a week...just to cover lineage and all that...have no prize fund besides enough to cover trophies....and leave the rest in my pocket to put into sidepots....but that's just me

*EDIT and I only say Trophies, so at least we'd have something to bowl for
