Violent Eruption vs Crossroad
« on: July 14, 2012, 02:56:49 PM »
I've been a long time lurker on this site but never felt the need to post anything. I am however needing some advice on which ball to get and I'm tired of the same old boring advice I get from my bowling friends who throw nothing but either Storm or Brunswick... So I guess I figured it was time to sign up and hopefully get some different advice..

I need a semi strong symmetrical ball, solid or hybrid for medium conditions.. I was looking at the Violent Eruption and Crossroad.. Both balls look pretty much the same except the VE seems a tad stronger and sooner with less snap on the back end..

My stats are as follows

PAP: 4 1/8  1/4 down
Axis: 20-30 degrees
RPM: 325
MPH: 16 (Off my hand)
Medium track

Summary of what my coach told me

I was told I have a very unique roll. Something to do with my axis tilt in relation to my PAP being that its 1/4th under... My ball completely ignores the heads and that when my ball exits the pattern, I create a large amount of flare due to my unique axis rotation and the ball faces the pocket and makes a huge turn left. I have to be really careful of what ball and what drillings I use because I don't have a lot of margin for error because of my roll.. I don't know what all this means, I'm still learning but hopefully this helps somebody with making any suggestions.. Thanks in advanced..

Looking at your stats and reading what your coach said, I would say hands down the Violent Eruption.. I'm not saying the Crossroad is a bad ball by no means I just think it would be harder to control.. BTM gave the Violent Eruption a perfect 10 rating for tweeners on medium oil.. JMHO....... Good luck and welcome to Ballreviews.........
