USBC Member Sanction Cards . .
« on: November 04, 2013, 10:30:35 AM »
Finally got mine a few days ago a full 2 1/2 months after it was submitted.  Who else has theirs and who else is still waiting?  Seems pretty ridiculous to me . .
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

I understand it may sound ridiculous but there are few million sanctioned bowlers. I would say if it was after the new year then it would be ridiculous. Depending on when they were sent in this is pretty good.

Got mine well over a month ago. Submitted it online in August, so took maybe 4/5 weeks.

Seems reasonable enough.

Received my notice via email and it stated it would be 4-8 weeks coming via snail mail. Not sure why that is, but it's the same each time I re-apply. Seems as though each chapter should be able to get it (card) done quicker, but then what do I know. It's no big deal any which way I view it.

Are you guys sure when it was submitted by the local association?

You shouldn't count from when you filled out the form. I filled mine out the first week of the season, September 3rd, but, according to the USBC web site, it wasn't submitted to the USBC until October 14th!

Of course, once it is submitted to the USBC, you can just go the USBC web site,
http://membership.bowl.com/USBCsearch/SearchMembers.jsp,
enter your name and state and print it there. I've done that many times, since I don't get my card from them until December or January. Not a big deal.

The day you fill out the card and give it to your league secretary is not the day it gets submitted to the USBC.  Your league secretary then gathers all the other people that submitted cards that night, and forwards them over to your local association, and they are the ones who submit it to the USBC.   Ours were handed to our local association the last week of August, and they submitted them to the USBC on 9/14.  Meaning the association had them for about a week and a half before mailing them to the USBC.  The USBC sent them to the card vendor 4 days later, and then the vendor Mailed them out on 10/4.  So from the night of league they were filled out, until the day I received it, was about 6-7 weeks.

I'm on the board for our local association, and we get them sent in as quickly as possible.  The only reason I make a point is that several years ago, we used to routinely get cards 2-3 weeks after the beginning of league.

I've seen some get theirs as early as October, but I wouldn't ever count on it. Like I said, it's very easy to print your own, once they received them. Heck, I cut mine to size and laminated it to carry in my wallet. When the USBC made one came in the mail, I just threw my printed one out.
