New Years lament
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:42:25 AM »
Having watched "Ball Reviews" deteriate through the years, it is finally living up to its title.

"Ball Reviews".    It was a wonderful for years as a "board" for ideas, arguments, advice, etc.    Now it's only good for "buying and selling".

Since the bowling public has been "brainwashed" by the ball manufacturers to believe "it's the ball not the bowler", the days of  "learning, asking and giving advice, instruction, etc." is a thing of the past.

I wonder sometimes why all the people are trying to "sell" balls.   Most of them are the latest and greatest.

Most  of them are not the ball for THS, but designed for a specific condition the Pros face.

Sure wish I was in the proshop again.  As P.T. Barnum said "there's a fool born every minute".

Don't wish you were in a pro shop, it's tougher than ever to make a decent living with 1,302 "latest and greatest" balls being released every month.

Little known fact:  In Russian "Hope" and "Change" translate to "Tax" and "Spend"

Things change and so has this forum.  I kinda laughed and cried watching the PBA last week when they said to join the 2 million members of the USBC.  Lots of bad things have happened to this sport and the economy is not helping.  There are more problems than the ball of the week and Ray Charles house shots.  My mother and I had a discussion about the tour not touring.  Wonder why they are in Vegas every week and you don't hear a lot about the 64?  Bowling has got very expensive for everyone involved, the bowler, operators, touring pros etc.  With less and less bowlers less and less forum.
