USBC open
« on: May 20, 2009, 05:05:34 AM »
I have a couple questions.  Do PBA bowlers have to get a USBC card every year like we do?  If not, did they have to get one to bowl in the USBC open?

They get a card if they bowl in a USBC sanctioned league or event (like the Open), otherwise they wouldn't need one ... just like anyone else.

Not true, I believe one of the requirements for a PBA Membership is that you must be on good terms with the USBC

That could be true, but I never heard of it.  I have always had both memberships so maybe I am not the right person to answer. But I don't recall ever reading about having to be a USBC member in addition.

My bad if I'm wrong.

OK, tenpin477 is right:

From the PBA faq section:

Q: Do I have to be a member in good standing with the USBC?
A: You must be a member in good standing with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) in order to participate in PBA events. If for some reason your USBC membership is suspended, you will not be permitted to bowl in PBA events until your USBC membership has been reinstated.
