should i give these balls up
« on: April 28, 2010, 09:02:18 AM »
i have two balls - brunswick fuze eliminator and a brunswick combat zone and im the verge of giving them up. i got a 285 with the combat zone at the beginning of my winter league and i have not had really high games since then. this ball use to get my out of tight situations on the lanes but it feels like the ball is getting too heavy on me. the brunswick fuze eliminator was supposed to be the ball that was supposed to get me high games but its been a bust like roy williams has been for my cowboys. what should i do? should i move on to some new balls or stick it out with these balls?

Older balls had coverstocks formulated to handle the types of lane conditions, especially lane oil, that were in existence back then.

Chances are, to bowl on today's conditions you might do better to get something more current. It depends on how slick the lanes are where you bowl. If they are on the drier side the balls you have could still be very good after some maintenance (oil extraction, resurfacing).

Not trying to be rude, but if you suck, no ball will "get you high scores". Try and find a good coach. Let him evaluate your game and give you recommendations on new equipment. Good luck with your decisions.

+1 Sage advice. Follow it. Much cheaper than buying balls.
