used bowling ball question
« on: May 09, 2008, 10:16:34 PM »
I have seen on ebay used bowling ball being sold by pros on tour. I have never purchase a used ball. The balls look almost brand new. Have anyone purchase balls from the pros and were you happy with the results? I am tempted to get one off of ebay. Let me know Thank you

the sad thing is for me most the time when i buy a used or plugged ball it seems to be better then the new ones i spent twice the amount of money on. lol. it does exactly what i want i guess cuz its more broken in. i have never bought a "pba tour used ball", but have had and bowled with many used or plugged balls and really didnt see anything wrong with them. if i can get ball X used for 50 shipped and really enjoy it then i probley will get anouther new later down the road NIB for $135. hope that helped

I have no problem with used equipment. I have used plenty of used and NIB equipment, and as long as you have a good ball driller, you will have no problems.

That said, I would never buy something thats been drilled more than once, unless the plugs and redrills were just span changes, as my most recent addition to my arsenal is. It was drilled twice before I got it, and all 3 drillings were just moving the thumb back.

I bought 2 pieces off of Mike Scroggins on eBay. (Absolute Inferno, Track Machine)  They were both in great shape, all I had to do was have the thumb moved up a little bit.

Also he sent me an autographed card, which I thought was kinda cool.
