You need to refresh your finer grit matte finish balls more often than you have been. Balls that come 2000 grit and 4000 grit Abralon MUST be refreshed with new, clean Abralon pads more often. There is no set time limit. You have to keep a SHARP eye on your ball's surface and its reactions.
I am NOT talking about oil absorption. That is also important. WHat I'm talking about is that all balls will eventually have their covered changed by simple use to about 600 grit US grade. If you're bowling on older lanes or on badly kept lanes or you have a higher rev rate, your ball will change more often.
There is no set time limit. More often is better than not at all. 2 months of 1 league a week is probably a good time range for that refreshing. 3 months is probably too long.
Do it or don't do it. It's up to you. These are expensive balls and we all like high scores. Don't let your laziness be the fault.
