I'm puzzled
« on: August 16, 2010, 04:58:03 PM »
I've been bowling this summer on a league with a short THS. Quite a bit more backend than my normal league shot but with more oil in the middle. I can tear it up with my old Ti-Pearl Messenger Blk/Gold. But this ball is starting to crack around the fingers so I bought a Storm Reign as a future replacement. I play up the lanes on about the 7 board. My Messenger goes easily up the boards and tears in at the pocket. It is drilled with the cg just outside the ring finger with the pin above the ring finger and outside of the cg. My Reign is drilled with a 40 x 3 3/4 x 45 drilling. The Reign is only slightly harder to get up the boards than the Ti but just doesn't turn the corner like the Ti. Actually it looks as if it rolls out. I also have a Virtual Energy that is drilled identical to the Reign. It displays that rollout look if there is no carrydown. If there's some oil at the backend it really perks up. If I throw the Reign on that carrydown it won't wrinkle. Shouldn't the Reign display a closer look to the Ti? I'm kind of disappointed because I was torn between the Reign and a Freeze as a replacement for the Ti but went with the Reign because I saw so many guys doing well with it. Is the Reign that much stronger than the Ti that it may be rolling out on the shot I'm bowling on this summer?
