I watch a lot of extra frame and everyone they talk to says they drilled two balls last night or 3 balls the other night. What do the pros do with their old balls. Old to them is one block of six games. There gotta be tons of balls left over.

Many times they will sell them on ebay to go to charities and things like that. Seeing that they are on staff and have a good amount of access, it just makes sense to sell off.

I'm sure they also donates them to youth bowlers' as well.

Sometimes they even give them to people who are following them or helping them move from one pair to another.

I met Dana Miller-Mackie that way. I went up to her to ask a question, which not only did she graciously answer, but introduced me to Aleta Sill. From that, I followed and helped her throughout the week at the tournament we were at; even took her gear to a local pro shop (that shop sponsored the tour stop). At the end of the tournament, she gave me that ball, which I still have.

I'm sure that still goes on nowadays, but again depends on how gracious the bowler is, and if they are not busy fielding more than enough questions to have some free time.

I was listening to DJ Archer talk about his arsenal during the TOC and he said that Dom Barrett is someone who will always drill a new ball after a block - no matter what. He said that Dom "likes fresh covers". As someone who travels from England, I'm fairly certain he's not taking all those balls home with him.
