Vegas
« on: September 01, 2013, 11:07:45 AM »
I have a friend in Vegas, who currently doesn't bowl.  He is looking at getting into the sport upon my suggestion to get something stable in his life and meet people.  What proshop should I send him to get the best service and help learning the sport, and with the best value?  He resides in the north side of Vegas.

I may be spelling his name wrong, but getting him connected with Gary Otis would be a good start.

K&K Bowling.  They put ball videos on youtube quite a bit.  They seem like they know what they are doing.

I don't know the other shops mentioned (heard of K&K), but I know that Haynes bowling supply owned by David Haynes is a class operation.  They do a great job...check them out.

I have nothing but great things to say about both of these shops. K&K generally run the Hammer/Ebonite booths at Nationals, and I've known that entire crew since they opened in 2000. Bowled league with a few of them, and Adult/Jrs with at least 3 of the people there. Pure class, these guys.

David Haynes is the same. Bowled match play with him every summer in the tough shot leagues in the off season, and again, great guy.

Even push on either of these, though if you say that your friend is on the north side of town (didn't mention how far north), K&K has pro shops inside Gold Coast, Suncoast, as well as their free standing shop off of Valley View and Russell (just slightly south of Russell).

With either one, you can't go wrong.

Guys at K and K have drilled several balls for me.  No complaints.  Also they have shops in Sun Coast, Orleans, Sams Town in addition to their man shop.

I have read some of the posts here and your information is outdated.  Robert Smith
was connected with Danny Nadeau's pro shop.  He is no longer here.  David Haynes
has no ownership in any pro shop, however he does work at Nadeau's pro shop on
Decatur Blvd.  He is a very good driller.  I don't know everyone as there are so many pro shops in Vegas, but Johnny DeBennetta is also very good and extremely experienced.  However, the pro shops that I use are K&K.  All of their shops have excellent drillers and are very experienced.  I hope this helps you as this is an accurate picture of the current situation.  I am sure that there are other very good
drillers here, but I just don't know them well enough to recommend them.

You would be incorrect. His shop is on Decatur between Tropicana and Hacienda. I just drove by there on my way to K&K on Valley View.

From his FB page:

Haynes Bowling Supply
5255 S. Decatur, Suite 102
Las Vegas, NV 89118

www.facebook.com/haynesbowling

Description
A Las Vegas pro shop owner and 11-year member of the Storm Staff.
David bowled his first 800 series at the age of 15, and his first 300 the following year. Also at the young age of 15 he finished 3rd in the High Roller and 25th in the Showboat Invitational. Among his many accomplishments the highlight of his career is the number of years on Team USA (10), and winning the gold medal in South Korea with an all-amateur team in 2006.
The last win by the USA had previously been in 1965.
David has 6 PBA regional titles, over 140 300 games, and over 40 800's.

When not on the lanes you can find him drilling balls in his pro shop, Nadeau Haynes Bowling Supply.

It's even mentioned in the news and media that they own a pro shop as well. I'd tend to believe them over your claims.. furthermore, I'd rather believe my own eyes overall.

And quite honestly I'm not sure of exactly what you're trying to prove or disprove...the question was ball drillers and pro shops...in our database it is David Haynes pro shop..what does your politics lend to this post? Yes Robert is gone...but the rest is irrelevant to the customers
