vertex ball spinner

I was thinking about buying the 1/3 hp model directly from vertex, has anyone bought one of these recently, seems cheaper to order from them than a online proshop?

Ok, this is embarrassing but I've got to admit the truth when I made a mistake.

I have the 1/2 hp Vertex spinner, not the 1/3 hp model. The motor's label is on the side where I can't see it without removing the whole machine out of its cabinet. I found my original receipt from November 2001. I paid $189.95 + $10 shipping.

For some unknown reason I always assumed I had the 1/3 hp motor. Oh, well, confession is good for the soil.

FYI it's still going strong.

ordered 1/3 hp direct from vertex, 229.95 shipped with the start up kit best price anywhere, I had a donkee 2 speed spinner before and absolutely hated it too noisy and too much vibration, think this one will be better, never really needed the high speed setting anyway.

To perhaps help in answering the question of how often the spinner gets used......the recent Radical Technologies ball study using a Jayhawk scanner showed the following:
Guru Supreme OOB 500/1500; actual grit 653.  After 10 games 3838 grit.
Roto Grip Menace OOB 3000; actual grit 2015.  After 10 games
3954 grit.
Track Paradox OOB 500/2000; actual grit 1285.  After 10 games
3823 grit.
Columbia Swerve OOB 500/1000/2000; actual grit 1441.  After 10 games 4014 grit.
You decide for yourself how often one needs to surface the ball on a spinner.
For me it looks like every three to six games.  So for me the spinner will be getting a lot more use.

Not sure what you're saying here.
If the surface is changed to around the 4000 grit range when you've used a ball for 10 games or so, why is the equivalent change in ball reaction not reality?

Yes, it would seem that we would notice a larger change in ball response after 10 games then......but it's not.

Most people take 3-5 weeks to get 10 games because they Bowl one league a week on a house condition.

When you Bowl those numbers a week a part your less likely to notice that each week you're not standing and throwing and getting the same reaction as you did one or two weeks prior.
