Pro shop operaters/Drillers - I have a ?

I've been drilling on a old clamp style jig - press for about 1 year now. Press and jig work well but some of the people I drill for require oval thumbs. I need to upgrade to a milling machine. I've looked into Innovative, Jayhawk, Precision, Ultimate. I'm really not set on one but like the Precision. I'd like to know what you use in your shop and the pros - cons! thanks

  You can easily make ovals with your setup. I do it all the time. Just use your head, look at it, and think about it. It will come to you.

In my opinion, precision ovalmatic is the only way to go if you can. No vacuum to worry about, once you line up the center line you don't have to realign after thumb drill or finger drill if you do that first. I guess I'm a little bias on the matter because this was the system I learned on with the PBA tour in the 70's and the last time I looked in the truck for the senior tour it was still the system of choice (2002?) If anyone can verify whats used now I would guess that would give you an idea for accuracy and ease of use. When I was out on the tour in late 70 early 80's Larry would drill up to 300 balls a week with no problems with the jig. Ray DeSanto is the person to get the system from.
I've had 2 ovalmatics (Litchco ovalmatic in 1977 and finally upgraded to super system 2 in 1996. Wouldn't consider anything else!!!

With all the people looking at this site, doesn't anybody know what drill press-jig they are using on the PBA tour now?

Uh, not all of us have the luxury of getting onto the truck?  

I could probably find out the answer when the Seniors come to Brentwood, though.

I build my own press and basically is the same thing from Innovative and Jayhawk, same mill drill but better digital read out, cost a lot less, PM me for more details.
