Don't you hate it when your ball gets destroyed
« on: April 21, 2007, 01:15:24 PM »
I was practicing at a center clear across town where I never had any problems there and my ball didn't come back. After throwing another ball down there (sometimes it pushes out the other ball) I called ball return and a huge chunk came out of my benchmark league ball. No it couldn't have been my weak unversitle Roto Grip ball but my very nice Ebonite ball that I do care about. How it happened, who the hell knows. Luckily, the chunk was on the opposite side of the track but it took out at least a 1/4 of an inch approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. I told the pro shop what happened. I will be pissed if I have to pay for it. I'm more concerned the job this pro shop will do, or how well I should say. Same pro shop that doesn't know the difference between fingertip drilled and grips and likes to open thumbholes "gradually" 1/8 bigger at a time. I might say "f it" and leave the ball there. See what happens next week when I pick it up. I may have to buy a new ball.

Most ball are just bowling balls.  If one gets damaged I get another one.  There are a few that are really special.  I found my Purple Vicious exploded in my den a couple of days ago.  It was special.I think I will turn it into a lamp.  I have always had the feeling that if a ball does not earn it's money back in 30 days out it goes or it becomes an experimental piece.  Just about anything can be replaced and maybe improved on.  There are a few comfortable bowling balls.

Had the same thing happen to my Infinite One at the X hole.  Pro shop fixed it at no charge and you couldn't really tell unless you were looking for it.  Chunk missing was about 2 inches wide X 1/4 deep.

I had a chuck missing ...wasn't as bad....but that bad part was when i let the bowling center fix...even thought it free.....
After ward i brought it to the pro shop that i normally attend and he say they did a REALLY bad job on it.
