Title: Vise Ball Cleaner
Post by: relentless1 on December 27, 2015, 03:38:34 PM
Does this product work well as a cleaner? I've seen it available for awhile but haven't seen any comments or recent reviews about it. I also saw that they have a compound cleaner and wonder if that's similar to like Motiv Power Gel Scuff?

I've tried the base cleaner and found it to be among the best water-based cleaners, ranking up there with Remedy, Knock-out, Zapp-It, Purple Stuff and Liquid Nitro.
(I have not tried any of their other cleaners.)

Thanks! I'll buy a bottle this week and maybe even pick up the compound or polish cleaner. I already have a bottle of Remedy RX and always willing to try something different. I've been checking out That Purple Stuff and that's another one I want to try and compare it to Black Magic Rejuvenator (my go-to cleaner for solids).

I second charlest's thoughts. I just finished off my second bottle of the Vise cleaner, and it's as good as any water-based cleaner I've used.

I use Remedy for cleaning up covers during all of my refinishing activities between grits. Buying Remedy in bulk is very cost effective, and it's just plain effective as cleaner. I use the Vise cleaner at the alley to clean up the covers after play. The stuff is really good.

I agree that the Vise cleaner is the best cleaner on the market. It doesn't have a strong smell, and cleans belt marks easily.

:) Neither I nor Steven said that. So, not sure with whom you are agreeing. :)

I like any USBC approved cleaner.  The key is to keep oil off of your ball.  Here is an independent review done by Laneside Reviews of That Purple Stuff.

Hey Jeff - How do you think it compares to Black Magic rejuvenator? - That's what I'm using and I notice you didn't list it in your last post......

Sorry, but I don't like Black Magic Rejuvenator. Its smell tells me there's something nasty, possibly toxic in there that I don't want to touch with my bare hands. I tried some, still have the bottle but won't use it. Now that you reminded me, I need to put it into the Hazardous Waste recycling.
