Vise Exacticator
« on: June 23, 2005, 06:10:48 PM »
I'm just looking for some information on this.  I've become horribly picky over my thumb inserts lately and was wondering if this may be the way to go.  Do pro shops even carry this or would I have to order from Vise directly?
Anything is appreciated
Thanks

On edit:  Here is a link to Vise's home page...I could have given a link straight to the Exacticator, but I thought the guys would enjoy the home page better.  To actually find the Exacticator (which they give little info on) look under Thumb Inserts

Vise Exactacator is awesome when it comes to getting the mold of the thumb hole. I don't particularily like their quick plug for inserts, doesn't quite harden up like a slug, and feels tacky like Vinyl.

I prefer the use of Ultimate "Wizard" 1 hour plug for the inserts, hands down the best quick plug on the market. Don't even bother with Donkee quick plug, it shrinks and cracks.

If you want, I can do the mold for you and make you some inserts. I'll need the ball for a day, and once I have the mold, I can make infinite inserts. PM me if you're interested and I'll tell you the costs.

Never tried, I'm pretty sure it would crack the housing with the heat it creates.

Telling you, Ultimate > all. Feels identical to a slug.

Nick, about how much would the Exacticator kit and some Wizard plug run me if I can get both directly through a distributor (Ace Mitchell)?

I dunno, distributors vary.

You'll also need the casing for putting the thumb mold in, we just use the ones we got from the Donkee kit. You'd be better off ordering direct from VISE, and see if they have the 1 1/8, 1 1/4, and 1 3/8 casings to make the inserts.

The Wizard plug runs about 110 bucks for 2 gallons.
