I've gone back and forth between grips and no grips the last couple years and recently decided to try grips again. My question is do vise grips already have a built in forward pitch? The reason I'm asking is I hope my driller changed the hole from 1/8 forward to zero. Since I put the grips in

If you are using the power lift side of the insert, it does have 1/8 forward pitch built in. Personally, I prefer to use the oval side of the insert which does not have any additional pitch.

They look like power lift inserts.

I should be able to check the pitch of the hole by using the pitch gauge? My pitches in the fingers were 1/8 forward with laterals of 3/8th. So with grips it should be 0 and the laterals should be unchanged?

Depending on what type of pitch gauge you have, you might be able to get an okay measurement with the inserts in, but it is easy to take them out and re-glue them in to get the correct measurement.

Unless I am mistaken here, I think the Vise Power Ovals have 3/16" pitch and the Vise Power Lifts have 1/4" pitch. The Turbo 4 in 1 Quads have 1/8" pitch and the Turbo Power Regulars have 1/4" pitch.

All you have to do s look at the grips. If the insides of the hole are straight, whether round or oval, there's no pitch. If the front of the inside is angled back toward the outside of the grip it has forward pitch, usually 3/16 - 1/4. -- JohnP

I'm sure if you try that grips glove that takes the place of inserts, and then report on it, this whole forum will come raining down on you. :o
