They do add a little more because you are basically adding 1/8th forward on the finger pitches.  I dont think it is going to be significant enough to add 100 rpm to your rev rate.  But you will definitely feel a difference.  I have been using these since 10th frame grips became hard to find.  When I tried to go to regular ovals; it felt awkward.
