Vise IT Conversion

What would I have to do to swtich from Turbo Switch Grips to the Vise IT's? Will I have to plug the thumbs on all my equipment?

Turbo Switch Grip: 1-1/2" drill bit

Vise IT: Drill bit for 1-1/4" (1-5/16") & drill bit for 1-3/8" (1-7/16)

I think you have to plug and re-drill your thumbs..

I used to use the Turbo's didn't like the feel of them. Then again I had them when they were fairly new... I've broken many of them, I have tried the newer ones in friend's equipment still didn't like the feel. Do the Vise IT's feel like a glued in slug?

I have had a few balls with the Switch Grip, did not have any problems but they were not heavily used. I had seen a few players have problems with the old style.
I just got the Vise system put into 5 of my balls and so far so good. It is a distinct advantage to have the same feel in all of these balls. As Lilen says you would have to plug and redrill to go to the Vise IT. But it may be well worth it.

Vice makes an adapter sleeve(top ring) so that you can switch without plugging. It is thicker to compensate for the 1 1/2 inch hole the Switch grip requires

CB breaks one on TV and they are terrible?  That's why there have been 4-5 versions of the Switch Grip, they keep breaking.  Hundreds of them.  I have never broken a Vise IT, the ones Vise drilled for me or the ones I have made myself.  The IT system is much better, stronger, feels just like a glued in slug.

I have drilled several of the Switch Grips for customers and have never had one returned since they made the revision last year to the locking tabs.

I hear the IT is a little bit of a chore for the first one, but overall the folks seemed satisified with them also.

It is a case of pick your poison as both products are very good.

I use Turbo since my pro shop guy uses them, I agree with the above two posters. I broke 4-5 of the older slugs (only had them for a year), but since the newer tabs they feel a lot more secure. Would try the Vise IT if I felt like going to a different shop, but I'm pretty lazy.

I have used both.  Vise IT is a better product.  If you have the choice I'd go with IT.

Vise also offers the IT in 1-1/2", probably using a 1-9/16" hole. But the adapter sleeve sounds like an easier solution.

I could be wrong (not the 1st time!!) but I don''t think that the IT is available in 1 1/2, only the adaptor sleeve and it is for 1 1/2 down to 1 3/8. Nothing to change from 1 1/2 to 1 1/4.
