Vise vs. Turbo finger grips
« on: November 27, 2009, 12:36:26 PM »
Which brand do you prefer and why? I was also wanting to know which will last longer without starting to peel or wear down?

I put a pair of vise inserts in two balls at the same time and use them about equally, but the pair on one ball has really started to wear down. I haven't even had them on that long!

I prefer Turbo over Vise because they are softer, but I use Vise sometimes when needing a bit more lift as they have 1/4 forward pitch on the power lift and power oval vs 1/8 forward for Turbo Quads.

i prefer vise over turbo because they are more firm and last longer. they do also seem to have a slightly different contour which i like.

I prefer Vise, their quality control seems to be better. Turbo sizes seem to vary a bit.

i've used nothing but vise finger inserts and thumb slugs since 1995. i tried both turbo 2-n-1 and tenth frame....didn't like either.

Vise by far. Better quality over any company!

I use both Vise Vacu-Grips and IT thumbs.  Their quality is just better and more consistent than Turbo's in my experiences.

Vise grips are the only ones i'll use. I like the harder feel and I also noticed a little difference grip to grip from Turbo. Vise grips hold up really well for me so it helps not having to spend that extra little bit to replace grips as often

I sell Turbo in my shop because people like the soft feel.

Yes they have a 1/8 lift instead of 1/4 lift so that can be an issue with a new customer who wants inserts replaced in a ball.

I will agree that there are variations in size with Turbo. I have noticed that there are different stampings which shows they are using different molds for different batches. I have seen that if you stick to one color of insert you tend to not have that variation.

Now with that said I personally use the Vise semis in my own balls. I do not care for the stiffness of the material used but I need the semis to keep me from"hooking" the lip when my fingers exit the holes. I know that Turbo makes the semis as well but the Quad 2's are tough to find using my normal supply channels. I know I can get them from Turbo direct but....
