Visionary-no longer a PBA member?!

Until I came to this forum I had never heard of Visionary balls. However since then, I have gotten a green gargoyle that is TERRIFIC!!!(even got a crimson ex on the way alsoI know Visionary is a small company already and doesn't seem to spend much money on advertising. But after going to their website and seeing that they no longer pay the $'s to be on the PBA, I was a little concerned. I admire that they would rather spend the extra bucks on R&D and also pass the savings on to us, but........I'm also concerned that somehow this move might hurt them. Just wondering because some may be under the impression that since they are no longer with the PBA, that this means that their balls are somehow "inferior" and not legal for play? Also what about the lack of TV coverage? Very interested to get your take on this move that Visionary has made.....will it make the company better.....or end up hurting them in the long run?

I think it's blackmail,..that ball manufactures have to pay the PBA. I wish they would all stop paying the PBA,..then what...let the PBA make their own balls... Visionary will be fine.  They make a very good product.

Yea, that's kind of what I thought also....had no idea that ball manufactures had to pay the PBA. Any idea just how much the dues cost per year for a ball maker?

I think they had to pay around $90,000 a year.

WOW....ok, that makes a little bit of sense why they wouldn't want to pay!!!lol You'd have to sell a WHOLE LOT of balls to make that much $'s up! Have there been other ball manufactures that have been successful while opting not to pay the PBA?

I'm with Jim...screw the PBA.  Let them make their own balls.  

Visionary is a great company and make great equipment.  Some of my best scores came with Visionary stuff.  299 with Granite Gargoyle...michelle's old ball, 783 set with a Char Ex. even shot a 290 with a Amulet Glow 2 years ago.

Go with 'em BigBZ screw TV what being used on TV means nothing.  These guys are so good you could put anything in their hands.  

It won't hurt Visionary and if you are that interested in the company go for the test staff membership one of the better deals around.  

See the Visionary forum whewre I posted What's Up with Visionary and you will see what Jason Wonders e-mailed me.

BTW-- I am currently using a Visonary Centaur on a THS wet puddle middle and dry right and break it down with that ball then go to DT VPP and I am knocking 'em dead with those two as they match up rather well for me.  Two smaller companies that are priced right and make great equipment....IMO.
