Sure.

No axis rotation means the ball is rolling straight down the lane, parallel to the gutters.  So if a broom stick was stuck through the middle of the ball each end of the stick would be pointing at a gutter.

90 degrees of axis rotation is complete side roll.  For a right-hander, the ball is rolling (but not travelling) towards the left gutter.  So if a broom stick was stuck through the middle of the ball, one end would be pointing towards the head pin, the other towards the foul line.  The ball is rolling "to the side", hence "side roll".

Well, for those who may read this and wonder what "tilt" is, the broom stick example used above assumes the imaginary broomstick is parallel to the lane surface (or floor) as the ball is rolling (this is zero axis tilt).  This would not be the case for most of us.  Axis tilt is exactly what the name implies - the broom stick would be "tilted" at an angle to the lane surface.  One end of the broom stick (usually the one furthest from you) is closer to the floor while the other end sticks up into the air more.

A true "spinner" has maximum axis tilt where one end of the broom stick would be pointed directly at the ceiling and the other directly at the floor.  The ball then spins like a top.

Most people that throw a hook have both axis rotation as well as axis tilt.
