Effective lines to play when bowling
« on: August 30, 2004, 11:00:34 AM »
Hey guys what are good lines to play besides down ten when trying to score. What board should i move my feet to and where should i let the ball go, what arrow. Ive watched some guys play really tight inside and score I just dont know how yet. Help me.

I think that there are limited lines for certain types of bowlers and how they throw their ball and what their axis tilt is.  I would just go out and practice different lines and see what works best for you, just remember that you need a good entry angle into the pocket in order to get a higher possibility of carry.

I can throw the ball different ways. I can crank it or smoothe roll it into the pocket. But sometimes my balls are so strong they over jump on me on the backend. That is kind of my reason for wanting to learn to play inside.

well one way to play as a base for an inside line would be to stand about the 35 board and let the ball glide between the middle and the third arrow.  Most people like the ball to get out to the 15 board when it hits their breakpoint.  But I would start out with that line, and just make small adjustments from there to find your own line that works for you.  Oh, by the way, you might have to put a good amount of revs on the ball depending on what ball you have.  balls that can handle heavy oil are best suited for this line.

Thanks that helps, I usually play down ten with descent speed and let it snap into the pocket. I never liked swinging the ball, I prefer to be more accurate and efficient to keep up pin count and stay away from splits. Most of the equipment I have is pretty strong and I use leverage drills except for one ball. I have a fuze eliminator drilled with pin below finger and cg kicked out. Its rather strong on every lane, I have to have heavy oil to use it. I have a vortex 2 trimax pearl, apex aggression and trauma er. I have a apex intensity on the way along with a big blue pearl.
