Want a new weapon in my armour

I started bowling recently(about 1.5 months ago). I am a 2 handed lefty bowler. I usually bowl at 2 different centers and average about 155-160. I am still working on my form and timing. Currently I am using Columbia Yellow dot which is urethane coverstock. I do decently good at one centre compared to other as the oil patterns are shorter and urethane rolls well on such patterns. I am looking out for recommendation (to use at other center or places with bit longer oil patterns) about coverstock or particular bowl anyone might think could be a good buy for me. I am open to all kinds of suggestions :) :) :)

Best advice is always to talk to a PSO in your area (ask around who is good) who can watch you bowl or get specs and knows conditions you face generally and make more informed recommendations.  Ask on here and liable to hear all about the balls that just happened to be be released last week (what a coincidence).

I second BowlingForDonuts on seeing a local proshop about watching you bowl and making a recommendation.  It is best to have a set of eyes on you and the lane conditions before making a recommendation.

I would also recommend that you see a local instructor for some help before you make a big investment in bowling balls.  After getting lessons, your new ball may not be the best choice any longer for you because you may end up releasing the ball better.  :)

After your Pro shop operator talk, you should probably be looking at anything less than $100 from an online standpoint. His pricing in shop may be different...

And seriously this is the best time to be a bowler..... experimentation. Pick what you think is cool.... Just make sure it's reactive. Your pro shop guy can narrow down layouts, surface etc.

Lol, last week? Most of the arm chair PSO on this site will recommend balls that aren’t even out yet.

I would actually find a reputable coach first.  A trained coach should be able to identify the type of ball you will need while also considering your coaching path. 

A PSO can recommend a ball based on how you bowl now. 

Chances are, being so new to bowling, your game will change drastically.  The ball you select now for how you bowl now may be obsolete in 3 months.
