Please don't take this personally. I'm sure that he's a great guy, but are you kidding me????

$29.99 and that's just for ball types?

He wants $50+ dollars to suggest layouts?!?!?!?!?!

I'm sorry, that's what I have a pro shop & Ballreviews for.

No problem guys, just trying to help.

If you don't like the idea, that's cool, but don't knock the guy for trying to do something that he enjoys doing.

If he can make a couple of bucks, so be it.

It takes money for these web sites and we are paying nothing for them.

Just try to remember, you get what you pay for in life!

If you have a pro shop operator that knows his stuff and knows your game, you shouldn't need help from my site or this one or any other, for that matter. But, I run tournaments all over the country and bowl in about 40 per yr. and over the last several years, I've continually witnessed bowlers showing up with say...4 dull particles and 2 skid/flip balls (or similar arsenal), then run into a shot that requires something different and they  are lost, or at least handicapped. This is more common than you would think. Now, you wouldn't go play golf with 4 drivers and 2 six irons, yet many bowlers try to do just that when they go bowl. Also, there are many bowlers around the country who don't have access to a pro shop operator who can help them and they are influenced by other bowlers and ads into buying the same type ball over and over when trying to expand their arsenal. Others think that an arsenal of 4 aggressive coverstocks with different layouts is all they need. These are the people we designed the site for. I think there is a market for this information and I think I am in a unique position to do it, considering my access to testing all the balls on the market for BTM. Friends have been pushing me to do this for a few years, so Kathy and I decided to go for it. If we're wrong, well at least we tried. As for the cost, if it helps you avoid duplicating one ball reaction, then it has more than paid for itself. We think that if bowlers are more informed shoppers, then they will,in the long run, be happier and continue to bowl longer and not get frustrated with spending a lot of money for balls, yet not have the right weapon when they need it. The ball companies think so too. That's why they have endorsed my website. Many of the r & d guys helped me with advice and feedback when I was building it. If you need help in this area, I hope you will give it a  try. BTW, Butch, thanks for the endorsement.

This is a good idea considering that there are several customers that are buying their equipment online. Considering that several customers do not want to deal with their local pro shop, it could be a good idea. You notice that although balls tend to be cheaper online and through pro shops, there are no real consultations with pro shop professionals (as much) anymore.
