Shimming finger inserts

How do you shim finger inserts ? I only glue mine on 3 sides (I don't glue the thumb side).

You need to glue the inserts on the lower left (approx. 8:30) and the lower right (approx. 3:30) with only a tiny drop of super glue.

Shim them with small pieces of a business card (the right thickness) cut into pieces approximately 1/2" wide x 5/8"-3/4" long,

slightly thicker piece of plastic from Milo's:

I use Milo's when a thicker piece is needed; I use cut up business cards when thinner pieces are needed.

Both fit behind the insert, between it and the back of the drilled hole. I use a 1/8" flat blade screwdriver to insert and remove the shims.

I actually started taking IT collars and cutting them up, works perfect, plus they're already curved and are soft-ish plastic so they're flexible but durable.  Just that plastic ring that goes at the top of the Vise interchangeable thumb system, cut it in sections and use that.

My PSO uses playing cards on his balls since we are always getting handed decks during association tournaments and such.

I find that cardboard compresses rather quickly, so I always use plastic. Just cut them out of packaging, cups, even some of the thinner zip ties can work well.

Whenever I go to toss something plastic in the recycling bin I think, "can I cut some shims out of this?" (...and "who's been drinking all of this scotch?")

I've been using manila folder material for my shims for a while. I find that plastic doesn't seat as well and more likely to slide out a bit. I cut different widths to use depending upon how "down" I'm feeling that night. I only shim the backs as shimming the fronts can slightly alter my span.
