Tournament Success
« on: December 17, 2008, 01:04:18 PM »
So I had my first major tournament of the season last Sunday and I wanted to share my story since I'm still pretty stoked.

The format was pretty simple.  3-man Swiss. 8 games, beat your opponent for 1 point and beat the opposing team for 2 points. Pairing was based on position and there were a couple times we didn't switch pairs due to how the positions fell. I was lead-off, my comfort zone. I won all my points, which is really great. My second bowler won 4 and my anchor won 2. We went 26 and 14 after 8 games so that means we won 6 games in pin total. We tied with another team, who was close to dominating the tourney in the beginning, with that record for first. 9th and 10th frame roll-off had to be done. I don't remember all the details but their first bowler opened in the 10th and no one doubled to make up for it. I got all my spares, my second bowler went spare strike spare, and my anchor shut them out with a strike.

Anyways, pretty exciting thing for me.  Granted most of the competition went to JBT that day, there were two other teams we had to fight for first with.  It's only my second tournament win ever, but this time my nerves didn't get me so much, at least not until after I did my part.

Oh, and my scores were 178-226-187-267-235-223-256-202 for a total of 1774 and an average of 221. That's pretty good for me, I only average 200ish in league.  Used my Rival the whole time except the first half of game one.

If you threw Big B there would be more comments.

Thanks Lane, I am definitely proud of averaging that.

I guess I forgot to mention that it was the center's house shot, but it's not like the stupid easy THS.

reno: lol why's that?  No love for just doing well?  I will say I probably should have switched to my Avalanche for the Roll-Off since my reaction was getting a little iffy.
