GendouIkari,
There's no easy decision here. You have to learn how your body and hand will handle the heavier weight. I suggest buying one heavier ball and finding out how it will affect your game and your physical reaction. YOur hands and fingers will feel slightly different, the ball will react slightly different. YOur speed should be slightly lower, you will get slightly less revs, at least at the beginning. Unless you have the same ball in 14# and 15#, it may be hard for you to tell the difference in ball reaction, except the feel.
When I use 16 lb balls, as opposed to my normal 15 lb balls, I find my timing is better due to the heavier mass imposing a greater sense of control upon my arm and my hand. Revs are not much less, but the ball seems to hit a degree harder. Sometimes, 15 lb balls seem too light to me; they give me no sense of control. 16 lb balls sometimes allow me to have better timing
There are posiitive and negative factors, but if I were you, I would not get rid of my 14 lb balls, EVEN AFTER you feel comfortable with 15 lb balls. Make the transiiton gradually; you will have more confidence in their use. You might also do some hand exercises to ease the transition.
FYI
1. Many people seem to feel very comfortable and even prefer using a spare ball that is 1 lb lighter than their strike balls.
2. One other factor is that some people prefer using balls for heavy or heavier oil that are 1 lb heavier than their dry, medium-light or medium oil balls.
