Vise semi Vs power lift
« on: May 15, 2014, 11:07:10 PM »
I am currently using vise power lifts and I am thinking of trying the semis.   I know the forward pitch is 1/4 with the power lifts are the semis the same?

The semi isN't as much pitch as the power lifts.

Thanks bat.  I was on the vise site and it doesn't list the pitches.

I use the power ovals, they are an exact hybrid of the Oval and the power lift.  Can't bowl with out Em now!

I take it the power ovals are 1/4 forward pitch just like the power lifts?

I didn't check this Vise link, but you might look at it and see if the info is there.

Power ovals have never made sense to me.  If it's 1/4 forward, just drill the hole 1/4 forward (although that horrifies me) and use ovals and be done with it . .
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

When I drill a ball for a customer that uses power lifts I drill the pilot hole with enough reverse pitch to offset the forward in the lift so it ends up with the pitch I determined he needs.  Example:  if I decide he needs 1/16 forward and the lift has 1/4 forward the pilot hole is drilled with 3/16 reverse.  --  JohnP
