Weird Thursday

Weird Night.  We got new AMF scoring machines a few weeks ago and everyone is still getting comfortable with them.  We had a blackout on one lane and it was because of pins on the deck.  Once fixed it swept the remaining pins in the pit.  Well we had a few problems in the meantime fixing the score.  The team we were bowling looked at us and said we are tired of this and we want our money back and we'll just bowl at another time.  This was in the 7th frame of the second game! Some of them started to leave saying this happens to us every week and we're always last out of here.  The house said they would move us, but it was a scoring error that would need to be corrected even if they did move us and the machines were fixed.  So the other team managed to finish the second game packed up and left.  According to the rules they forfeited the remaining game and points to us because they left.  I told the other teams captain to ask the secretary for a ruling on what he could do.  The whole matter only put us 4 frames behind every one else when it was said and done.

yep,..ya leave ya lose, unless both teams come to a mutual agreement to bowl later, or reach another solution they forfiet the remaining points for that set.

I have never bowled anyone that just got up and left in mid game.  It wasn't like we were killing them we had actually split the points over 2 games and were even.  They didn't even seem like they were mad.

Sawbones  That is what was crazy.   It was just a simple blackout and fixed quickly.  The problem was not understanding how to use the scoring system and some of it's limitations.  Actually we were not that far behind everyone else.  The house is working on improving machinery and conditions at a good pace but the problems are not all that bad.  Another factor might be these guys were some of the lowest average bowlers in the league.  They have been in the league for several years and have no problems before. In fact they are normally very good to deal with and fun to bowl with.
