Title: Well, the carry fairy sat on my shoulder tonight!

I tried something different tonight - I backed waaay off the ball, coming out of it pretty much on the side.

280-289-242 - 811!!! The first SANCTIONED one!!!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!

I'll quit whining now. At least for a while.

And tonight I shot 779 (234, 279, 266). That would have been my 2nd one in 5 weeks! But I missed it by 21 PINS. I was using a Mass Chaos (treated with Doc's Elixer) for the 779 and 800.

Ooops, sorry to hijack your post...

Pss... what ball were you using? I hope you will shoot big with my ScreamR when you get it!

I took your guys suggestions, and deep cleaned it and hit it hard with a scotchbrite - I guess it came back tonight, huh?

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1. You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2. The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE. I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3. Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.

Iâ€™m like Bob on this. Iâ€™ve shot 800 but the whole concept seems foreign, to carry that well and the frames where you donâ€™t strike tend to come a times that doesnâ€™t hurt your score as much.

I mean, those kinds of scores require at least 9 or 10 strikes per GAME. And we're talking in big strings too. It almost requires you to stick a big game in there too, cause odds are you aren't going to go 268-266-269 or something. And LOL Superman, 300-300-199? Hehe. Or it was a four game set, and you had a 300 and three really bad games . . You've got an honor game coming your way, mumzie. Had a buddy get an 805 on Monday, then turns around on Wednesday at a different house and shoot 299-795. Keep it going!

I changed hand position. I had thought I needed to get more aggressive, so I tried that wednesday night with no success. Last night, after thinking about it, I went to a way less aggressive hand position.
Also - I watched my elbow closely for a "locking" on the upswing - didn't happen but late in the 3rd game.
And, last but not least, I used my shoe brush a lot more than normal - I had the feeling earlier that some shots were more slippery than others, but I wasn't sure. But, seeing as how I didn't fall out of a single shot last night, I believe the brush helped.

Those are the things I put to work from your suggestions. Items 2 and 3 I would NEVER have looked for if left on my own. So THANKS, folks!!!

Oddly enough, my 800 series consisted of games of 264, 268, 268. So it can be done like that! Man, I'd love to have had a "268 TRIPLICATE" patch!!!

My spare shooting has been decent at best, but 4-5 opens a night (not including splits) is killing me. Gonna practice this week though so I can shoot an 8 as well....hopefully. Keep up the high scoring!!!
