Bowling Left Handed
« on: March 28, 2009, 01:52:18 PM »
Well this summer I'm going to try my luck left handed. Right Handed I'm a pretty good bowler, I show my skills mostly on sport shot. On house shot I could care less for avging 190-210ish. Anywho. I was wondering what do yall think would be a good ball. I avg 160ish with all my right handed stuff, but the span is longer and I don't want to redrill any of that.

I had to do this for about 4 months a few seasons ago. On the THS, righty I was 230, lefty I was 208. On the PBA Ex league, I was 187 righty and 156 lefty. For me, no matter what I tried, I could not get lined up on the PBA Ex shot lefty.

If you're pretty good right handed, why would you switch to your left, instead of building your game with your right?

Grand Illusion or something similar would probably be good.  The idea I have is to get something very controllable but not too weak or strong

If your looking at drilling up one ball and one ball only id look at any of the following:

Grand Illusion
Hy-Road
Villian
Gladiator Solid

It's the summer time, the league won't count, its just a 12 week Y/A league to waste time. And avging 200 on ths really don't mean anything. I will be bowling a sport shot league though right handed, I need more practice on sport shot. THS can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. lol

I think I've narrowed it down to Lane 1 or RotoGrip/Storm

Fair enough, dude.

If you're gonna throw Lane #1, don't do it lefty. That's just, wrong on so many levels. LOL
Those Hy-Roads look pretty sick.

Pin Slasher/Playmaker are great benchmark balls, and I've seen more lefties having success with the Playmaker than idk what!

Get a ball that you would like right handed.  Then when you get frustrated lefty you can just plug and redrill it right handed

Gamebreaker
Hyroad
Playmaker

I would get one of these, as your going to want a Benchmark reaction from that one ball, that way its a lot more predictable for you and easier to read the shots.

I'd consider the Gamebreaker, that's been a benchmark in my bag for league and tournaments since I got it when they first came out. I think the Playmaker is more condition specific. The Hyroad wouldn't be a bad choice either.
