Wha is the most angular heavy oil ball?
« on: August 24, 2003, 06:53:45 PM »
I think that high-hook potential balls have capacity which rolls on oil.

And not so angular.

But almost of bowlers think that high-hook potential means more angular

They expect BIG HOOK

It is difficult to reconcile bending greatly with conquering oil.

Almost bowlers ask for an ideal

Dose someone know ideal the "big hook" "angular" heavy oil ball

I don't know if my perception of angular is the same as yours but the Burgundy Gryphon moves big time.

I shot on a 39 foot flat sport shot heavy oil- clean backends.
the Gryphon was drilled with the pin under ring and cg below grip midline at about 60 or 70 deg. the ball rolled out. it was much stronger than my blade particle.

You have to hit some dry for any ball to be angular. The super carbide Bomb is supposed to be a big hook monster.

Particles are not very angular in general.

I would say the most angular particles that I have thrown or seen are:

Burgundy Gryphon
Freak Out
Blade particle( can be fairly angular on wet/dry)
Granite Gargoyle
TPC Warrior scuffed. it was all backend for me.

The Obsession is far more angular than the V2 Strong IMO.  None are more angular than the Phenom though although the phenom is more for medium/heavy IMO.  The Superfreak is still more ball than the Phenom.

IMO the Obsession rolls alot sooner is more mello on the backends then the V2 Strong is.....The V2 Strong has a tendency to store energy naturally a little better and really explodes on the backs. I had the opporunity to throw both of these balls on a flat oil shot with really tight backends. I found the V2 Strong to be a little more exciting to me. Both of the balls are great for heavy patterns though.  Then too I might be biased because I am such a Vortex fan, evident in profile, and I have never really been an apex fan. Although i do feel the Apex Agression was an awesome ball.

The three most angular I've seen
1. AMF Evolution Tour
2. Vicious Particle
3. EZ Money

Most angular just beneath heavy oil ball.
AMF Evolution Extra.

i think you all are getting m ypost miscontruded. I am not a bowler whose gae cater to skid snap reactions. I prefer even roll anyday of the week. Both balls gave a really even read but the V2 Strong had a better finish let me put it that way. The Apex Obsession just did not give me the hitting power that I was looking for. If I was on a shot that catered to the lighter hits then this would be my choice.

Anyone consider the Black Cherry Bomb or Phenom?  I think the Phenom's one of the most impressive balls to come out in a while.

After seeing a normal league bowler throw a Phenom (I drilled it up for him lastnight), I have the say that it is a very angular heavy oil ball.

I also think that the Mutant is pretty angular as well. I have said numerous times that this ball gets further down the lane than Track's numbers indicate.

Another angular heavy oil ball is the Raging Inferno. The same reaction as the original, just move your feet about 4-6 boards left

Thank you everyone

By the way,my friend going to buy Trottle.
I told him that Throttle is not angular.
However he adheres to hook rating57

He likes using dry boards on top hat conditions.
I recommended him Throttle/R,but he wants heavy oil ball

Does Throttle satisfy him He is high speed medium rev bowler.

He'd like the Phenom better.  I just saw one thrown on a tall top hat...very angular.  Very strong.

Lol, the Throttle couldn't be a worse choice for an angular particle.  It's got a nice hard arc to it, to be sure, but it's gonna look like a big hooking Tour Power or something.  He must not keep up that much . .

About comparison between Inferno and R.Inferno, same layout, same coverstock finish ?
