calling a shot b4 it happens
« on: March 24, 2005, 03:43:00 AM »
I just remember this it was when Amleto won.  i was watching the show wit my friend will on the phone the first shot we were like he pured it and i was like watch 7-10 right here and what happens on the next shot blower 7-10.  And i think it was 2 weeks ago in league if this kid went sheet he would go 279 but on the last shot i said he is either going to leave a 9 or a 4 pin and what happens a 9 i think it is like a sixth sense or something but sometimes it is scary

There is no sign that you are on top of your game better than being able to leave a 10 pin or other spare on purpose. (No, leaving a full rack doesn't count people!)

When I am on, I can call that I am going to leave a 10 pin and do it.  I usually can tell what is going to happen by the time the ball hits the arrows.  I hate when you know you sissied out on a ball off your hand, and watch it head for the pocket knowing a nice 8-10, 5-7, or whatever is awaiting....

D <~~~~ Used to be terrible wiffing 10 pins.  Now through much practice, can wiff any single pin spare at any time.

My bud, Jason Shimek, would call his own shots all the time.  We would even set up shots for him.  Like the 3-6-9.  He could take out the 6 pin 9 out of 10 times.

A few weeks ago I was throwing the ball very light in the pocket, but still slinging around pins and had 4 or 5 in a row.  Ron Clifton joked about pushing my luck and suggested a slight line change.  I joked back that I was carrying just fine, and that if I actually hit the pocket, I'd probably stone an 8 pin.  Anyway, I made his move, wired the ball in the hole, and left the most solid 8 pin you ever saw.  Too funny!
