What about proshops? Will they survive Coronavirus?
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:14:53 PM »
I am wondering, even if our bowling centers are able to and do return to normal business at some point, will our proshops return with it? I would imagine that they are just like any other small business in America and are teetering on colapse because of the virus.

Good question; The few that are in my area, I believe will, because they have sponsors that also support their shops a well.   But, have to assume all won’t survive (ESP w/o support).

Some member on here are smart to build their own shops from their garage, very smart choice.

I think the PSO's inside of an Alley will survive, because the alley can't charge them rent, if the entire alley is closed.  So they "shouldn't" be losing money right now.  PSOs that operate off-site, won't be so lucky.

The folks that only have a pro shop for income are in trouble. If someone does a pro shop as a side business then I would think that scenario has a better chance of survival.

I agree. I hope I’m wrong, but I think this will hasten the closing of some bowling centers - and that will definitely hurt PSOs.

If they are smart they either submitted an application for PPP money or are going to file for unemployment benefits today.

This.

If they applied for PPP or EIDL and looked at their numbers right, they may be able to get the funding and keep it under the $10,000 limit that they wouldn't have to pay anything over that $10K limit as a loan back with interest.
