What about the new equipment cycle?

Since I haven't seen this obvious topic come up yet.....

We're flooded with new equipment every 3 months... Some more, some less. We're seeing alleys close everywhere, and already lots of reports about new equipment not being able to be thrown (Redemption Solid and others for example). If the paranoia continues, and it logically will, followed by further delays returning to the lanes, what will happen to both the current generation of new equipment when no one gets to throw them, and the never-ending pipeline of the next greatest rock? Will the current crop be lost to the next greatest thing, or will the vendors hit pause on the cycle?

The current new stuff will probably get ignored.

This might be the death blow for the new venture, "BIG Bowling".

My thought is this.  With Bowl Expo only being a few months away; I cant see companies producing new lines of balls when the current new stuff is still just sitting around.  Someone is going to be losing tons of money whether it is the companies, distributors, or even both. They now have thousands of balls taking up space in their warehouses not going anywhere.  If that is the case; then I dont see much of anything new being released until Bowl Expo providing that isn't cancelled and some of the current new stuff starts moving.  I could be wrong but it is just my thought.

Wasn't going to be anymore new stuff till Bowl Expo anyways, at least for Storm/RG release schedule. This might not actually have much effect on it.

That's the point though. New stuff now, new stuff coming at Bowl Expo, and they won't miss that chance, even if Expo is cancelled probably. So Axiom, Redemption, etc, etc, will be basically untested and up against the next cycle, right?

They closed the border from Texas to Mexico, so no Brunswick shipping out for a while.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Friday that all non-essential travel would be banned across the shared border between Mexico and the United States.


“Both our countries know the importance of working together to limit the spread of this virus,” Pompeo said Friday, adding that the efforts would still ensure commerce would continue to support “our economy to keep it flowing.”

This action will go into place Saturday, March 21.

I just heard from a friend in VA that his PSO told him Bowl Expo has been cancelled. Yeah, too many levels removed from the source, so I'd regard it strictly as a rumor for now.

I'd believe it, it was terrible scheduling to begin with, let alone what's going on now.

Today, someone who works in the industry told me the same thing. Bowl Expo will be cancelled. Expect an announcement in a week or two.
