What bowling ball should be my next ball?
« on: November 11, 2009, 08:47:27 AM »
Right now I have two bowling balls.  A really old (5-6 years old i think. I'm not sure.) beat up tropical storm that is 14 pounds and an Ebonite NVD which is 15 pounds.  The tropical storm was my first reactive resin bowling ball I got way back when.  Thats why it's only 14 pounds.  I still use it for really dry lanes but I don't like going back and forth from 14 to 15 pounds.  It screws up my whole motion.  I'm looking for a medium to dry lane bowling ball to replace my old, beat up tropical storm.  I don't know much about bowling balls so I don't know whether or not I should get a smooth arcing ball or one with a lot of backend or get both.  Any suggestions?

my youtube account is 'ScubzMcTalBowling' if you want to see how I bowl.  I don't get a lot of revs on the ball but I also don't throw it very fast either.

Well, they still make the Tropical, so if you are happy with the type of reaction your 14lb gives you, you could just buy a 15 and put the same drill pattern on it.

Whenever somebody asks me about getting a new ball, I always ask what their  current stuff does or doesn't do that they want the new ball to fill.
