Returning to bowling...........but
« on: January 21, 2004, 04:12:10 PM »
After talking to my wife and brother about returning to bowling, I have decided that switching to my left hand is the better option.  With all the crap that I am starting to deal with in my right hand, I dont know if its possible that it can make it worse.  It keeps popping, and feeling really sore around the thumb, where I had surgery on it when I was a kid.

My question is, should I jump into a reactive ball, hoping that my scores will boost immediatley, or should I go old fashion and start with say a Yellow dot in hopes to learn to hit a mark?

What other tips can you give me in my journey to become a decent lefty (which I do just about everything with my left but throw).

well i will mention this, my highest game left handed is a 208. I know if I had to do right now, I would average right around 150-160.

I do a little left-handed bowling now and then. I get the best results with mild reactives like Scout Reactive, and that would be my choice. I'd get a plastic ball later on.

I'd say go with current technology.  That way, you will learn how to throw it and continue to grow as technology improves.  I say this because I learned to throw weak Urethane, and the stuff these days is so aggressive I have trouble controlling the stronger equipment.
