What are the pros like?
« on: November 15, 2004, 10:14:01 PM »
I've never had the chance to get super close to my golf idols -- damn ropes!!  If I could, I'm thinking guys like John Daly and some of the lower tier players would be pretty approachable by the general public.  I have had the pleasure of meeting some PBA and PWBA pros and for the most part they seem to be a much more accessible group.  Incredibly nice and more than patient with the great unwashed.  I've dealt with Danny Wiseman and sent him an e-mail after his Masters win -- he got back to me the SAME DAY thanking me for the good thoughts.  Shocked the bejeezies outta me!!  CJ apparently is a participating member of this board and handles the inundation of questions/comments/criticisms very well.  Then there's ImaBaggerNow -- please tell me he doesn't represent the majority of the PBA pros out there, past or present!?!?!  I know you have to have a certain level of confidence to play any sport at the top amateur or professional levels, but c'mon!!  Can't say I'd want my boy emulating him!!  What kind of experiences have you had with the pros?

I have bowled with Marc McDowell 2  times, he seemed a really down to earth guy and he is good with kids, when i last bowled with him i did very well and made me look better then i am, i talked with him about drilling and stuff like that, and he lit up the local lanes like he should. i could have gone to the kid pro am at miller park but know one would drive me the 3 hours i would have loved to have done that.
