What Ball Did Lavoie Use in US Open To Shoot 300?
« on: November 18, 2016, 10:07:11 AM »
I know it's Storm, but I don't recognize it.  I tried to compare it to balls currently offered by Storm but it appears to be an older ball.  (It looks like Alpha Crux but seems like a weaker ball)

Thanks!

How did it seem like a weaker ball?

Thanks guys. It just didn't snap strong for such a top tier ball.

Alpha Crux is a little more rolly and there was a lot of oil if you look at the pattern. Granted, they did break the pattern down still

Alpha crux is strong but jumpy off the break point due to its rolly nature.

He was further right, but that's his A game. That's probably why next thought it was a lower end piece.
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

Was a better look than urethane, IMO. The Alpha blended and read the pattern so well.

He was throwing an Alpha Crux with a large VAL angle (pin down in this case) and no hole it seemed. Its going to create a smoother and slower response to the friction. The flare lines will be tight and the ball wont cover as much of itself as would a shorter. Drilling techniques can create a wide range of shapes regardless of the balls design. The pattern was also pretty slick and don't forget Urethane was throw in the 2 previous matches blending the pattern and pushing oil from the heads closer to the mids and back.

My question would be what balls and surface prep did they use on the fresh and what area did most start playing at?
