What ball do you..
« on: February 09, 2011, 05:27:09 AM »
currently own that leaves the most ten pins?  For me, hands down, my 900 Global Bank.  No matter the angle, the surface, whatever, that darn ball just leaves more ten pins than any other ball I use.  Anyone else have a ball like this?

I agree the BANK currently leaves a ton of ten pins.  I have had the ball since September and am still tweaking the cover and looking to add a weight hole

in hopes of getting a better ball reaction and kick out those annoying 10's.

Invasion, ring 10s with this ball a lot. But its always "just close enough" to keep using, when this ball matches up it strikes a lot. I just have to endure all the 10s im going to leave with it until  strikes come.

My C*System 3.5 wraps a lot of tens when the lanes start to dry out.

The only things that are truly permanent are death and Sharpies.

For me it was the roto grip theory. I threw 2 games OOB and 2 games polished, left 18 ten pins in the 4 games. I sold the ball the next day. It had literally NO continuation.

You put 4 games on it at what sounds like one house... so on one shot... and then sold it and blame the ball for being bad? Ok...

I have personally never had a ball that left any abnormal number of 10's on a variety of shots... sure one ball might match up bad that day and I could see a number of corners, but its a match-up problem, not some sort of built-in fault for that ball.

Two come to mind.....the original Boss, which was a pocket 7-10 leaving machine and the Danger Zone HPD where that ball would carry everything in practice and when the lights came on.....forget it.

Instead of "A Future For The Sport", it really should be "A Sport Without A Future"

Honestly. I have a Mutant Cell that hits like a marshmallow on a lot of conditions because it's so strong and revs up so quickly, but when I go to a tournament or something and the lanes are a little funky and nothing else is working, it throws pins around like nobody's business and gets me out of jail for a couple games until the pattern opens up. It took a plug and redrill and about 864 surface changes to find a good matchup for me, but it seriously was worth the effort since it's REALLY turned out to be a useful ball that gives me a look I can't get with anything else. If I threw it for 4 games in one house and instantly made up my mind, I would have thought it was the worst ball ever made.

So, if you don't throw an honor score within the first 10 games, do you get rid of them too?

I stone 8s and 9s like its cool...

Brunswick Revolver.... Left so many flat 10s with it, tried so many different surfaces and even put a weight hole to increase angularity, still leaves flat 10s.

Anyone notice that the majority of these balls are extremely strong solids with duller covers? Usually means these balls are using way to much energy in the front part of the lane to carry the 10......Polish!!!! Or drill these kind of balls a bit weaker.....Its very hard to use these on THS. I didnt believe it either until I had issues with 2 very strong(covers) balls and had to have them redrilled to be serviceable on THS. On THS I can use a strong pearl with success but not a strong dull solid very often or atleast past game 1. I am not exactly a cranker and I have seen the light. The only solid I have success with dull on THS is the Track 505T. I have a 715T(mid performance) which is also too strong for THS.
