what ball should a beginner get?
« on: August 25, 2008, 11:29:09 AM »
I am new to bowling, I'm very confused. What kind of ball should I get? How should the holes be drilled? I'm overloaded with information. Any  help will be appreciated. Thanks

depends on how you play... how often you play... and what you want

if are just going on the lanes to have fun and not more than once in a month... get a plastic and have it drilled conventional to your grip as you simply have nmot the time to learn the technique

if you go more often and really want to play higher scores get a beginner or midrange ball and have it drilled fingertip and get also a coach or someone that knows his stuff to teach you the technique... then you will get into the 160 range fast and get a solid game.
Nothing hurts more than seeing people play high end equipment and having no technique at all but shooting a straight ball... waste of money!

Even the "low level" reactives can play high scores as I am proved each and every league day from my fellow teammember who plays a Tropical storm and scores better than I do

... but I am still a bit of a ball whore

Get a good midrange if you play more often and really want to learn the hook... if you shoot a straight ball and will be shooting straight balls don't waste your money
