I bowl a 2nd shift league and the lanes have dried out some. I wouldn't say they are bone dry but not far from it.
Usually I use my ebonite primetime (medium oil ball) and play the inside angle usually around the 4th arrow, 21st board, 22nd board sometimes. I didn't want to play that part of the lanes but had to due to the conditions. I am comfortable playing that part of the lanes, but would rather be in the track area. Last week I had to keep my hand under the ball more and less on the side to lessen the hook so I could control it better and find the pocket. I was able to score good and had a high 600 series, but I felt I had to do a lot of adjusting.
I was thinking of breaking out the old urethane ball and using that. My worry is that my pin carry won't be nearly as good. Also sometimes at most lanes I go to the outside and track areas are dry enough that my urethane ball will hook to much and hit brooklyn. It has a sanded finish, but was thinking of polishing it to give it more length.
What should I do?
