Most overated ball ever= rotogrip cell. 200 bucks down the drain, was so sensitive to speed and any oil, hated this ball! which ball was your biggest let down?

LANE #1 Super Carbide Bomb.

Only thing that was good for was propping a door open. Turned me off to Lane #1 for good. Never had a ball from any other company that was even close to that bad.

Roto Epic Battle. Never could get this ball to rev, a real lazy lope. Had to throw 20+ mph and no way can I do that. Never punched another Roto until the Rogue Cell came out, which I like.

For me it was the Hammer Razor Blade. Drilled that ball four different times and I could never get it to work.

Burgundy Hammer by Faball... very brittle cover,just didn't hit for me.I loved all the other urethane Hammers. Gave it to a rival team member and he killed with it

More recently Shock and Awe wasn't a good match for me.

Way back in the dark ages, in 1977, I bought a yellow dot for use in the national tournament, and I had made it clear to the pro shop operator that I was buying the ball for that purpose. Nonetheless, when I got to Reno and the ball was checked by ABC officials, it was too soft (by 4 or 5 durometer points) for use in the tournament. Therefore, I took the ball about 3,000 miles to bowl in the tournament and had to bring it back but wasn't even able to use it in sanctioned competition. I have to blame the pro shop operator as much as the ball manufacturer, though.
