I didn't get to bowl on the 42 foot shot but I watched teams that were on it...  it didn't look TOO crazy, I saw a quite a few iq tour pearls being thrown. As for the other two, they weren't impossible but you definitely had to grind it out. The 48 foot shot was unlike anything I ever bowled on, but a lot of people that scored were playing up the gutter with charcoal. I thought the 37 foot one was pretty standard in terms of a tier 1 college shot, it just broke down a little slower than usual.

The Hoosier is known for really, really demanding patterns. That's one of the reasons why coaches love it so much. When I worked for USBC, I got to cover the event in person one year, and they used a pattern called The X, which was nasty. If you bowl well at the Hoosier, you know you threw it well. Fun stuff!
