triple threat-why no use?
« on: December 07, 2003, 06:08:21 PM »
I have a triple threat and love the ball.

the surface have be altered very easily

scuffed to 1200-its the biggest ball in my bag

shined to 3000-it goes staight

so it can defintely vary in between

BUT

it doesnt get much usage from others-hardly any sales, seems to be a bust

WHY?

what are you opinions on the ball
--------------------
Dont swing it-if you cant bring it

When in doubt-swing it out

I don't know much about ball sales in other areas. The main reason why there are not that many Track balls around South Dakota is that many pro shops do not push the Track equipment. If it is not Columbia, Storm, Ebonite, or Brunswick many of the pro shops up here do not think that the other companies are worth it to push. When I was throwing nothing but Track I got a lot of people to try their stuff and the really liked it to where now that's all they use or a good majority of what they use. I got switched to Brunswick by a friend who worked for them and really like the equipment I have of theirs but I am thinking about switching back to Track. The one good thing about all of the Track stuff I had used and still do is that I have a nice predictable ball reaction. More then I do with the Brunswick stuff I am using. So lack of push for Track equipment would be one guess of why not many sold. That is one ball from Track that I am looking at getting before nationals in February.

First to beat Charlest to the punch, this should be in the Track forums.

Secondly, many of us who were fanatical about the old heat were disappointed with the Threat.  Here comes the Triple with a slightly more aggressive cover but basically the same ball.  Why have both?

My 2 cents:

Because the Threat was a failure as a Heat replacement - the cover was too polished and resulted in a skid/flippy ball. The Heat was never flippy.

The Triple Threat is closer to the basic idea of the Heat. The stronger cover reduced the skid/flip characteristics of the Threat and made it more like the Heat.
