What ball wouldyou recommend?

Looking at the: Brunswick SWARM and copperhead. Storm street rod. Hammer psycho.  Columbia rival.

Let me know i can't decide. Probably can't goworng with any but undecided.  I'm RH and throw average hook. looking for something consistent.

If you're looking for consistency, I can't speak highly enough for the Rival. Two of my buddies have one, and they are the epitome of smooth.

What are you looking for?

There are 2 types of balls listed, at a very basic level:
- resin pearls - Swarm, Stret Rod Pearl, Psycho
- resin solids - Copperhead, Street Rod solid, Rival.

2 dfifferent types of balls for 2 different situations.

the pearls(swarm, street rod, psycho), in general, will be longer, handle less oil, and flip harder in the back. the solids(copperhead, rival) will be earlier, handle more oil, and be smoother.

if i had to take anyone of these to be my only ball, i would either get the rival, or get the copperhead(most likely with a weaker drill or polish.)

In this case glenn, I would hit up a pro shop and ask for his opinion.  He can watch you bowl and then make the decision for you.

The Rival is a very smooth, controling ball when polished.  I never had any good luck with it being OOB.  Seems to roll out.  It could be a great bench mark ball out of your bag.

What is it you are looking for?  3 ball arsenal,4 ball, 6 ball?

Brunswicks are made to hook, and hook early.  You can alter the surface to kill the mid lane reaction, but it would be up to you.  I havent thrown much Storm latley, Hammers have been really good  to me.  The Black Widow is a ball with lots of length and lots of backend reaction.  Also, do you like any paricular company?  There will be new balls coming out really soon, so you may want to check up on that.

i'm still getting in the swing ofthings with bowling. I'd rather not get a rival since i can throw it whenver i want since my uncle has it.  I want a ball that will have a good hook to it.  I will be buying oneball now and mabye getting another 2 or 3 down the line if i stay with it.

I just don't understand th drilling exactly on how it can help me get what i'm lookingfor outof a ball.

The pro shop recommends a rival but the  guy is also a columbia staff membe so he's going to push his ball overthe others. So thats why i wanted a fair compairison.

I will be buying a ball this thursday so i cna get used to it before league starts in 2 weeks.

Just looking for something smooth and with a nice average hook to it.

Go with the Street Rod solid.  It makes a smooth consistent move to the pocket.  If you threw a big hook I'd probably recommend something different, but I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with the Street Rod.  Plus it's relatively cheap.
